What you are supposed to see is all of the icons next to your language (where supported). However, if the “optional feature” setting is blocked by your organisation then it will only download the display language (shown as the little A icon in the screenshot below). It also makes sure your spell checker and the user interface are in your local preference, so the US Favorites shown in Edge becomes Favourites in the UK. Even from US to UK there are differences, like typing B on a US keyboard produces the B but on a UK keyboard you get the B. This will make sure that all apps and peripherals (like keyboards) understand what language you prefer and will adjust accordingly. This should work by default but some organisations block the downloading of the optional features that would allow it.
